The Sleepywrap Success
It’s time to retire our ring sling and get a carrier that will let us continue wearing Kyan without wearing our backs out. Yesterday, we were off to another Koaladventure to Forest Hills Chase Shopping Centre – perfect for testing the newly-delivered Sleepywrap. So with our Koala Princess bundled in the wrap, Ken and I took 4-hour turns.
We bowled,
ate yummy food,
played arcade...

Bim and Gen's Dark (Photo) Affair
Bim and Gen Teocson (in the photo) were our wedding videographers and they did a fantastic job (though I have yet to see the final output, no thanks to me and my laziness!). For our wedding and prenup, Ken and I went for the understated and classy glam look - something I was happy with.
Until I saw the prenups of these two.
To say that they push the envelop is a massive...

Baby Slings A Safety Threat?
The parenting world is abuzz with the news that the US government is hunkering down to issue a safety warning on baby slings. The US Consumer Product Safety Commission says that there have been too many deaths for the threat to go unchecked. A certain baby sling was even named to be particularly unsafe, specifically the Infantino SlingRider, which is a bag type sling (a sling similar to a...
Philippines' Isla for Benetton's It's My Time
I didn’t think Benetton, the illustrious fashion brand of my youth, still existed! It does and they are running a global model/face search dubbed IT’S MY TIME. It’s an interesting concept involving the consumer pulse to pick who will front their campaigns. I signed up to check how good (or bad!) the entries are.
Some are downright comical! Makes me wonder how accurate...

On Being a Parent
Being a parent goes beyond procreation. It’s the sleepless nights from conception to the rest of the children’s lives. The kisses that make their skinned knees and monsters go away. It’s the vicious anger you feel when they get shoved in the slide The grief they give as they run amok and generally just create messes over and over again. The tears you shed within when they...

Tech-illiterate Me
I cannot count the number of times I opened a blog account (or any web account for that matter) which I didn’t continue. Multiply, Blogger, Twitter… The list goes on. Just this past two weeks I’ve failed to post anything to this blog (bad Ree!).
Part of the reason is that I have a short attention span with all things bright, new and shiny. But I think it’s mostly...
Just testing...

I'm Jealous!
Probably not the best title, but I am indeed jealous of my good friend Laryh’s job on a cruise ship. She has been all over the world and seen so many places!
This is just one of her many photos of Chile.
If you want to be jealous like me, follow her travel blog Smoggy Spectacles. Lots of gorgeous photos and documentation to match.

Filipino designer Kate Torralba's thoughts on...
Excerpt:
I can imagine Kate Moss, Lady Gaga, Anna Wintour in their stylish devastation as we speak. Contrary to popular belief, the fashion world is composed of human beings. In all our supposed frivolity and bad rap from some of those outside our industry (remember Mo Twister’s recent hate post?), we have feelings too, and McQueen’s tragic death is one of those moments where we press...

Bonds Roomies Pants Review
Was lucky to get picked to review the new Bonds Roomies pants by Kidspot.com.au. As soon as it came in the mail, I popped them in the wash and immediately put it on Kyan. She was lolling happily on her playmat as I typed so that would be a positive review from her! When I first got the pants, I was pleasantly surprised to see how soft the material was. The faux denim look - something...

Monopoly Changes It Up!
I’ve always been a fan of Monopoly and it’s one of the first games we bought for the family. Riley enjoys playing it immensely and his maths skills improved because of the the game. This new and improved version (reposted from PerezHilton.com, click on the photo for complete information) LOOKS interesting. But is the change necessary? This game is a classic! I mean sure, create a...

Tears On The First Day of School
No, not Riley. ME.
From the moment we found out we were expecting them, our children are DESTINED to make us shed tears the rest of their lives, whether this is out of joy or sadness. Last Monday I sent off my son to school for the 3rd time, this time allowing him to walk to school the remaining block. As he walked the few meters by himself, he kept turning back to wave at me, all the while...

Barney on Sesame Street!!!
Stinson and not the purple dino!
Neil Patrick Harris as the Shoe Fairy. He is AWE-some. Judging from Kyan’s leg and toe wiggles to his “Shoe” song, she thinks so too!
His performance is still so Barney-esque though. Teeheehee!!!
Telly: You gave me ballet shoes! I can’t stop turning!
NPH: I believe the term is pirouette… (With matching snooty look)

School Term 1 Starts Today...
… and the house feels so empty without Kuya… :(
He was one of the (if not THE) tallest in the class. Since Grades 1 and 2 are merged in the same class and he is now in Grade 2, he is Kuya to the lower grades in the class.
They grow up so quickly… WAAAAHHH!!! (Mum bawling her eyes out with nostalgia…)
Kyan refused the bottle again...
Great big SIGH..! :(
Roger.. Oh Roger!!!
Nadal + Murray = Darn GREAT Tennis!!!
Tie break up to 10 points? Amazing!
So You Think You Can Cry.
What’s with all the tears..???

Aussie, Aussie, Aussie... Oi! Oi! Oi!
Happy Australia Day!!! Will prepare a mini-barbie grub for the fam and enjoy the day at home. Can’t help but wish we were going to Torquay Beach for the Havaianas Thong Challenge… It looks like it’s gonna be heaps of fun. But little Koala Princess might not take the beach heat well. But we know what to do/where to go next year!

I just developed a new-found respect for customer service agents. Actually, I’ve always been in awe of them, of how they can take calls and maintain quality scores for hours straight. I could stand up in front of class and teach, prepare and present marketing blitzes to CEOs, whilst terrified by the thought of taking calls or doing any kind of back office support. Just from my work...

Aussie Open is ON!
Watching Rafa Nadal and Peter Luczak battle it out in Melbourne Park for the Aussie Open. Thank God for Channel 7 Sport!
Some real good tennis playing in this match. Luczak (no. 78) is giving no. 2 Nadal a run. Literally.
First set goes to Nadal, 6-7.

Prince... Finger?!?
A cartoon character on the telly just sang, “His name is Prince Finger… He rules with a magic touch!”
20 years ago this would have just meant what it should mean. I’ve got such a corrupted brain! The years do that to you.

We're Off to Melbourne Aquarium TODAY
Early brekky with the penguins plus new sharks! Last holiday hurrah before Riley goes back to school to start second grade and to celebrate Kyan’s 4th month as well.
Can you spell KEWL!?!
P.S. I secretly booked a glass bottom boat tour for the two boys (Kyan can’t go on the boat so I can’t either - BOO!). I KNOW they will enjoy it a lot.
